Dr_Jenni_Irvine_thumbnailDr Jenni has been a Trainer with the Allergan Medical Aesthetics Academy in the fields of Advanced Anti-wrinkle injections and Dermal Filler use since 2008. She also trains medical practitioners in the field of Assisted Liposuction using both Nd-Yag laser and Radiofrequency. She has recently been elected onto the Executive of the AAMSSA (Anti-aging and Aesthetic Medicine Society of South Africa), and is a regular speaker on the topics of Palliative Health Care and Aesthetic Medicine. Dr Jenni is the Medical Director of Hospice East Rand and provides medical support to Shady Pines, a private Parkinson and Alzheimer’s’ Care Facility.

Graduating from Witwatersrand University Medical School in 1992 , Dr Jenni completed her internship at (what was then) the J G Strydom hospital. During an extended stay in the UK, she went on to obtain a diploma from the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) (1997) before specializing as a General Practitioner and attaining membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) (2000). It was during a stint in a Dermatology clinic in the UK that she developed an interest in dermatology and aesthetics. Returning to South Africa (2003), gave her the opportunity to combine both her GP and Aesthetic careers.

She has been actively engaged in the field of Aesthetics Medicine since 2006, launching The Aesthetics Centre in the same year. In 2012 she was one of the first South African Medical Practitioners ever to have attained Board Certification with the prestigious American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr Jenni  has been a member of the Allergan Medical Aesthetics Academy since its inception in 2012. Soon thereafter she was approached by Allergan to act as a Local Country Mentor in South Africa for their Academy, a position reserved for a select few Medical Practitioners who are recognised as having achieved a high level of competence in the field.

Appearing in Newspaper and Magazine editorials, as well as participating in a number of informative Radio chat-shows, Dr Jenni strives to assist people across the country to make informed choices when engaging the industry. She is committed to professional excellence and counts it a privilege to help other medical practitioners in the industry reach their fully skilled potentials.

Dr Martelize Brand, originally from the Free State, is a general practitioner and Aesthetics doctor. Ever since she can remember, she wanted to become a doctor. This lead to her graduation in 2003 from Bloemfontein University (UOFS). She went on to complete her internship at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria, and her community service at Rustenburg Provincial Hospital.

She then worked as a Medical Officer in Paediatrics at Edenvale Public hospital before going into private practice as a GP.

Dr Martelize ventured into the field of Aesthetic Medicine in 2012 when she went to an aesthetic conference with a friend. Right there and then she became ‘hooked’. Soon thereafter she obtained her aesthetic qualifications and became a registered Aesthetic Practitioner affiliated with AAMSSA.

Dr Martelize Brand joined us at The Aesthetics Centre in 2014. She had been recommended to us by a colleague who felt she would ‘fit’ into the Practice. She has more than ‘fitted’ in and has become an integral member of our Team. She is still practicing as a general practitioner in Boksburg when not at the Centre.

The absolute joy of her life is her family, friends, creativity and her passion for God.

Dr Xen’s journey started when he spent one year in the USA (post matriculation) with the aim of studying medicine there. He was accepted into 3 Universities, but opted to come back to South Africa as he believed that the South African medical degree was world class, offering a massive amount of practical experience.

He completed his MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 2004 and his government responsibilities in Cape Town and Boksburg before moving into private practice.

He then became a partner in one of Johannesburg’s premier ER units as well as a private practice in the esteemed Melrose Arch. It was there in The Arch Medical and Melrose Aesthetic Centre where he developed his passion for Anti-Aging and Preventative Medicine. He realized that medicine is, in its nature, a retrospective science. Once a problem occurs, it is treated. He believes that it would make more sense to be proactive and increase one’s health-span rather than waiting for problems to arise.

During the same time Dr Xen was a partner in a Coffee Shop in the Bedfordview area. Here he developed his passion for business and client care on a different level than what medicine provides.

In 2010 Dr Xen joined Skin & Body Renewal where he spent 7 years of his professional career before joining the team at The Aesthetics Centre.

Dr Xen met Dr Jenni at a conference in 2008. He feels that her absolute ethical approach to her practice is the foundation on which all clinics should be built.

Over the years Dr Jenni’s respect for Dr Xen’s skills and professionalism grew, which ultimately made her decision for him to join the TAC Team a very easy one. He will be an asset that will bring growth and innovation to our Centre.
