SKINBOOSTER™: The Drought Is Over!
I don’t think I ever realised how vital water really was until we were hit with the most recent drought. A total National disaster that has effected the entire country. Apart from our pretty Petunias wilting in the garden, it has had devastating effects on farms lands and commercial and domestic water supplies. I am so grateful that the rain finally came and I don’t know who was happier about it, mother nature or me.
Now, I don’t know about you, but the dry weather has left my skin dehydrated to a degree it has never seen before. With the seasons changing your skin experiences a drought on an ongoing basis and is crying out for a good downpour. We have come across a reservoir specifically indicated for your dry skin: Restylane SkinBooster™.
The skin’s moisture component is Hyaluronic Acid and is naturally produced in your body. As we age the levels of Hyaluronic Acid decrease and you are left with a dehydrated and lack-lustre face, screaming for a boost. Our first thought is to then just apply more day and night cream. That should do the job, shouldn’t it? The problem is that the hydration your skin needs is not surface hydration, but deeper down. With summer rainfalls, there is no benefit to topsoil soaking. What brings life to the earth is when water reaches the subsoil. The earth as well as your skin craves that deep soak. Restylane SkinBooster™ does just that for your skin.
Before and after a course of treatments: Supplied by Restylane (Please note: Results vary per individual)*
It is an aesthetic procedure that can only be performed by qualified aesthetic practitioners and can be incorporated into your existing aesthetic routine. It is specifically formulated to provide deep skin hydration allowing for improvement in the quality of your skin as well as boosting its natural functions (like collagen formulation, increasing elasticity and tone etc). This treatment is suitable for all skin types and can treat your face, neck, décolleté and hands.
As with most treatment modalities, it is required that you have a course of treatments to experience the full benefits of the SkinBoosters™. Three treatments 4-6 weeks apart is recommended and a top up treatment 6 months later. Upon your consultation with our doctor, a treatment plan will be booked for you accordingly, should you be interested in the program.
During the treatment the doctor will administer the SkinBooster™ to your skin via a “gun-like” machine. Trust me when I say it looks scarier than it actually is. With each shot that is made, small amounts of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) are placed into your skin to settle and provide hydration. Pinpoint bleeding is expected as the doctor is penetrating the skins barrier to increase the depth of the HA. Apart from being a moisture filled treatment, the needles itself allow for stimulation of your collagen and elastin as well as a complete resurfacing treatment for uneven texture and skin tone.
Directly after your treatment you will notice that your skin will be red and can be slightly swollen. You may also see red bumps covering the entire treatment site. This is due to a normal inflammatory response of the body and should settle after a couple of days. Your skin may be sensitive and tender especially on bony areas and may be prone to slight bruising. You are however able to apply make up the day after your treatment to cover up any evidence of you having had a treatment.

I still think it is amazing how a bit of moisture brings a new lease of life. Birds chirp a little louder, flowers seem so much brighter… harmony is restored. So why not restore the harmony to YOUR skin? With Restylane SkinBoosters™ you can help give back that luminous look to your skin, with a punch of hydration. Finally, an answer to YOUR skin’s drought!
