Laser Hair Removal

Hair Removal that is Effective, Gentle and Safe

Laser hair removal is a revolutionary way to remove unwanted hair with virtually no pain. Gentle light and electric energies are combined to damage the hair follicle, disabling the follicle from growing hair.

Who is this treatment indicated for?

Our hair removal clients are those seeking a long-term alternative to shaving, waxing, plucking or electrolysis laser hair removal is for you.

The Aesthetics Centre offers the Pain-Free, Hair-Free™ Advanced Florescence technologies (AFT) to effectively remove unwanted hair and to permanently reduce hair growth. Pain-Free, Hair-Free™ enables us to offer our clients an effective treatment with significantly less discomfort than other solutions.

Laser hair removal can be used on the following areas:

  • Face – chin, upper lip, cheeks
  • Arms – under arms, whole arm
  • Neck, shoulders, breasts
  • Back
  • Bikini
  • Legs
  • Almost all body areas can be treated on men and woman.

How many treatments are required?

It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. Each treatment will result in a permanent reduction in the amount of hairs in the treated area, with hair growing progressively lighter in colour, becoming finer and also slowing regrowth.

The number of treatments required will be based on your hair colour and type, body area, and skin tone as well as genetic factors which will be discussed during the first consultation at The Aesthetics Centre.

Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after  and average of 8 treatments, which are usually performed every 4-6 weeks. Lighter coloured hair may also require more treatments than darker colours. Our laser does not treat grey or blond hair but is safe to use on all fitzpatricks.

Will the hair grow back?

In most instances the effects are permanent. Most of our patients have permanent hair loss after an average of eight to ten sessions. Some of them need follow up sessions after the initial course is complete to manage ‘stray’ hairs.

Prospective Hair Removal clients should be aware that hormonal factors could reactivate hair growth.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

The Pain-Free, Hair-Free’s™ AFT, the “in motion” treatment sensation has been described as a “hot stone massage” and is considered one of the most comfortable hair removal options available.

Most people tolerate treatment without any topical numbing gel, but individuals who are more sensitive may prefer to have their skin numbed. All our current and past Hair Removal clients wave the numbing cream option.

And after my treatment?

This is a no-downtime procedure. Temporary pinkness in the skin lasts a very short time and most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment.

The treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 3-4 weeks and there may be a short period of irregular hairlessness in the area until the conclusion of treatments. It is important to note that patients can’t wax or pluck during their course of treatments as this will prevent the laser from working effectively. Shaving is allowed.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the course of treatments will depend on the number of treatments that required and the area being treated. When compared with a lifetime of shaving, waxing or plucking, it is a worthwhile long-term investment.
